About the role
This is a full-time office-based role that oversees compliance processes. The Compliance Officer
will be responsible for ensuring that our organisation adheres to the National Disability Insurance
Scheme (NDIS) guidelines and relevant legislative requirements. The role involves monitoring,
auditing, and reviewing internal processes to ensure compliance, as well as providing guidance
and support to staff on compliance-related matters.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure Regulatory Compliance
Monitor and ensure the organisation’s adherence to the National Disability Insurance Scheme
(NDIS) Practice Standards and other relevant regulations.
Training and Educations
Design training information for staff on compliance-related matters, including NDIS standards
and organisational policies.
Ensure all employees are aware of their compliance obligations and provide ongoing guidance as
needed.
Internal Audits and Monitoring
Conduct internal audits to identify potential compliance risks and areas for improvement.
Risk Management
Identify and assess compliance risks within the organisation.
Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks and present strategies to Senior Management.
Incident and Complaint Management
Oversee the management of incident reporting system to ensure they are handled in accordance
with NDIS requirements and organisational policies.
Ensure all incidents are properly documented and reported.
Reporting
Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and relevant regulatory bodies.
Monitor and relay incident reporting to Service Delivery and Senior Management.
Laise with Service Delivery and submit NDIS Quality safeguards Commission reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement
Ensure clear and effective communication with internal stakeholders regarding compliance issues
and resolutions.
Maintain effective communication with external governing agencies regarding reporting i.e. NDIS
Quality Safeguards Commission
Documentation and Record Keeping
Ensure all compliance-related documentation is maintained accurately and securely.
Keep detailed records of compliance audits, training sessions, incident reports, and corrective
actions.
Review and Adaptation
Review compliance policies and procedures to ensure they remain current with changes in
legislation and NDIS guidelines.
Present recommendations of organisational practices to meet new compliance requirements as
they arise to Senior Management by adhering to this task list, a Compliance Officer can effectively
manage and uphold the standards required for a disability organisation under the NDIS
framework.
Qualifications And Experience
Diploma or Tertiary Qualification in Community Services, Quality management frameworks
or related field desirable
Proven experience in compliance or risk related roles, preferably in the disability support
services sector.
Familiarity with NDIS policies, procedures, and regulations.
Organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience using IT platforms and technologies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
NDIS Workers Screening clearance.
