Disability Support Worker
ACCORD CARE is trusted in delivering person-centered disability support services to NDIS participants. We provide In-Home Care, Community Participation, Short-Term Accommodation, Supported Independent Living, and Community Nursing.
About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Workers to provide In-Home Support to an NDIS participant living in Bairnsdale, Victoria.
The role involves supporting the participant with daily living activities, community access, and building independence within their home and community.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the participant with personal care and day-to-day activities in the home and community
Providing positive behavior support using proactive and preventative strategies
Maintaining respectful, effective communication with the participant, support team, and stakeholders
Completing all required documentation including shift notes, incident reports, and data collection
Contributing to the team’s objective of achieving the best outcomes for the participant
Collaborating with your team leader/service coordinator to implement and review support plans
Maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to NDIS and company Code of Conduct
Demonstrating reliability, accountability, and responsiveness to the participant and your team

Qualifications & Experience
Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care or higher desirable
Mental health experience
Epilepsy support experience (preferred)
Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) support experience (preferred)
Manual handling experience/training (preferred)
Strong problem-solving skills
Experience supporting individuals with challenging behaviours
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working With Children Check (WWCC) required
